More Than Hot Type at the Mystic Museum of Art (MMoA)

The Hot Type Portfolio was displayed from March 18 – May 29, 2022 at the Mystic Museum of Art located at 9 Water Street in Mystic, Connecticut. www.mysticmuseumofart.org

A discussion with the artists about More Than Hot Type was held on the evening of May 3, 2022. MMoA Director, Susan Fisher, and Education Coordinator, Amelia Onorato, led a lively discussion with Hot Type artists Carol FitzSimonds, Susan Hardy, Elizabeth Goddard and Ruth Clegg that covered topics ranging from inspiration for images  to challenges with techniques.

On Saturday, March 26, Hot Type artist, Kendra Bidwell Ferreira, taught a one-day workshop titled “Colored Pencil - Vibrant Drawing.”  Students were able to explore this versatile, luminous medium that is portable, inexpensive, and great for mixing with other types of media such as watercolor and printmaking.
