About Carol Strause FitzSimonds
Born, raised and educated in Virginia, Carol is married and the proud mother of one son. She shares her artistic passion through teaching, mentoring, participating in collaborative projects, and serving on boards and committees.
Concentrating on drawing, printmaking and book arts, her work has been exhibited at colleges, museums, and galleries across the United States and abroad. Her art is found in numerous private and public collections including the Smithsonian; National Museum of Women in the Arts; Library of Congress; Zimmerli Art Museum; New Britain Museum of American Art; Newport Art Museum; Art Museum of Guangzhou Academy, China and others.
Featured in Journal of the Print World and The Artist's Magazine articles, she was selected for Biographical Encyclopedia of American Painters, Sculptors & Engravers of the U.S.; The Best of Printmaking, An International Collection and Who's Who in American Art. She has achieved the rank of “artist or fellow” in many organizations including Copley Society, Society of American Graphic Artists, Boston Printmakers, American Artists Professional League, Audubon Artists Inc. and others.
